"The Beginnings" is the first episode of the Jurassic Saga tv series. It was written and directed by Cypress Oury. It is currently unknown what the airdate is.
This episode opens out the Jurassic Saga with the origin of International Genetic Technologies, Jurassic Park: San Diego and Jurassic Park: Isla Nublar. The episode also explores InGen’s early days of paleogenetics that eventually leads up to what we get in Jurassic World.
|The episode opens up with a voiceover from John Hammond about International Genetics Technologies--e discusses the origin of InGen and the goals for the company. The voiceover is accompanied by video of InGen scientists working.
Then, it cuts away to the InGen board room in the Palo Alto facility where the board of directors begin developing concepts for Jurassic Park. Maguire is put in charge of concept development of Jurassic Park, which was decided to be placed in San Diego.
A few days later Hammond speaks with Dr. Laura Sorkin and Dr. Henry Wu about their concepts for de-extinction. It isn't directly mentioned, but Sorkin and Wu have then been hired by InGen. They become the top minds and head geneticists of InGen.
The next year Costa Rica has leased Isla Sorna to InGen. Workers build the InGen compound--genetics labs and worker's village. We get to see various construction projects around the island. Meanwhile, at the compound, Hammond speaks with Enrique Suarez, a representative from the Costa Rican government about the island.
The next week here is another board meeting: this time it is to choose which process for cloning--filling in sequence gaps with non-dino DNA or use complete dino genome. Wu's idea is eventually chosen because it is more time effective and cheap. Wu later comforts an upset Sorkin, they both decide to split up which species will be 100% dinosaurs and which ones won't.
Cuts to show construction of Jurassic Park: San Diego in 1983. Then, later in '85, Hammond leases Isla Nublar, cancels construction of Jurassic Park: San Diego and decides to move Jurassic Park to a bigger location.
The next year, the first successful dinosaur cloning takes place on Isla Sorna and a Velociraptor hatches. Two years later on Isla Nublar, construction of Jurassic Park begins.
